After years of searching I've found a really clean and solid and dry shorty. Flying to calgary to drive her home to Vancouver in about a month

Super stoked super pumped, look fwd to updating the coach a bit, but not much... Maybe just the old flowers hahah

Mine has the bathroom in the rear in guessing there were different floor plans for the same models??

Still trying to get info on the dodges, anybody know what chassis they were built on? Esp the shorty ones like I have? I'm just getting info together for future suspension parts etc...seeing what is interchangable

Ok mate slow down. We understand your excitement as many of us have been where you are. I'm going to stick my neck way out here and say after looking at the pictures of the roof. Seal it RIGHT NOW. First big project. If not...if the roof leeks you'll have a piece of junk in a heart beat.
Don't forget to tell us about the trip picking her up and bringing her home through the mountains. Once you get there to check her out let us know what you see and find and then maybe we'll be able to help you out. GREAT LOOKING FIND. Congratulations.

There were three Braves in 1973. The D-18, D-20 and the D20T. So I'm assuming you have the D-18 (not 19)

The D-18 had the rear bathroom. The D-20 (I have) has the bathroom directly behind the driver and a full bed/gaucho couch in back and the D-20T has two twin beds in the back.

It's built on a Dodge M300, so that's what you'd look for when searching for parts. Every time I tell the parts people that I have a Winnebago, they stop and go, we don't sell RV parts. So I just tell them I have a Dodge M300 truck, haha, and they can usually find parts.

I work in calgary in the winters but early fall will be the flight there to drive back. My family has a large shop there and can work on in full once I get there.

That's most likely what's going to happen, I restore vintage trailers and vehicles and turn them into food trucks for my catering company...

Was going to do the same to this one, but it's way too clean to gut and refurb, so I'll just keep it clean, maybe bag it to take to the shows, and use it to camp
In when we travel and do the huge music festival circuit.

Good part is, every single thing works in it, and it's dry, dry dry and straight.

Well she just got picked up, my buddy is driving her to his place, he loves it, wants to buy it from me

Says it drives insanely well, well running, no leaks no issues, good idle.
Will do a solid tune up when I get it in a few weeks

These things sure are nice

I go to car shows myself. Started going on a more frequent basis last summer after I finished my Chevelle. But I found what I'm mostly drawn to is the ratrods. Especially the weathered looking trucks... So I made up my mind to do one myself at some point. Nothing specific in mind, just something that inspired me... Fast forward to this July. We had a camping trip planned but I garage sale'd our tent last summer and gave up tenting, and that's when the Chieftain came along. It was a match made in heaven.

That would actually be a really nice picture if he had the running lights on. It's still a nice picture though.

Ya I restore vintage trucks and trailers into food trucks for my catering business and we need something to camp in when we do the massive music festivals...needed something with flavour!

Gotta admit, winne's have one the coolest body design I've ever seen, I really dig the lines, that's why I'm so interested in bagging it.... That's the rat rod in me, I've built so many retro rides I can't help it

I'm going to keep the interior as og as I can, my buddy says it's like stepping into a time machine it's completely untouched except for the floor.

I'm not 100% sure but if mine is any indication, if it stops wobbling it's dead...

You definitely have a open platform to work with. How is the roof? That is the main concern with these.
