Just had my RV in for its yearly Ministry of Transport test, here in the UK .. .
lots more involved than your USA test thingy, and a worry for vehicle owners here every year, even on newer cars ..

Heres the problem -
Front direction indicators need rewiring so they dont work as sidelights, and only function as an indicator ...
also need to add a pair of white front side lights, to be ok with the law here.. .

dunno where to start lol, im thinking the wiring to the lights must be seperate filaments in the bulbs, so ill have to get me tester out and see whats what ....

The front turn signal/marker light is an 1157 bulb which is a dual filament bulb. The quick and easy fix would be to go behind the light and cut the marker light wire which will leave only the turn signal in front and no marker. Then you could add the white lights to the sides and use the wire you cut from the front to power the side marker. I am not sure if the marker on your particular model flashes with the turn signal or not. If it does your will have to rewire the flasher unit to eliminate the marker circuit. The ones with the marker flash use a three prong flasher and the ones that don't flash the marker use a two prong flasher. That is the small round (usually round) can plugged into the fuse box. some cars you could just swap a two prong for a three but others would not flash if you did.

If your front turn signal lenses wrap around the side then you should have the two prong and cutting the wire as I mentioned would be an option

Failed the MOT. That has to suck.

Chevy only supplied one turn signal socket on each side for the P30 chassis.  Winnebago added the 2nd one.  The brown wire is the "marker" light signal.  The right side Dark Blue wire and the left side Light blue wire are the turn signal wires.

The side lights are just marker lights.

Stateside requires amber marker and turn lights in front.  Because color is based on lens color, either you would have to locate white lenses (most likely not avaialble) or swap out entire assemblies.

Both 86 and 87 P30 chassis wiring diagrams are avialable in the member free manuals area of this site (button at top of page).
