Reading DOT Tire Codes

I know I found the thread on here last night, but I'll be darned if I can find it this morning.  From memory, it appears that the DOT code on my tires says they were made in 1998...which is on the outside of safe, but look good enough to me.

Anyone have the link to the diagram someone made concerning the reading of the DOT code?

Cool!  Following another link here I found the code for the manufacturer of my tires, Cooper, made in Georgia, in the good old US of A!  Looks like someone shelled out some dough a few years back!

Tire date, after DOT,( eleven digits ) use last 4 first 2 are week & last 2 are year (ten digits) use last 3 for year only
