On my 84 HR Imperial 33 the little lights that are floor level at the entrance door, bathroom, and hallway and are suppose to be turned on and off with the switch beside the entrance door and on the black switch in the bedroom but they don't. I was messing with the thermostat and they came on  Hm? . Long story short, when I slide the ON/OFF switch to ON on the thermostat housing and move the temp to 60 degrees the lights come ON. When they come on by doing that I still can't turn them ON or OFF with the black switches no matter what combination I use with the switches. So I took the housing off and pulled the switches and found out the LIGHT switches are using a ground circuit which allows a ground contact when ON and the thermostat uses positive and negative to control the fan.
When the coil on the thermostat reaches 60 degrees it makes contact with a metal stud and turns the lights on but if I lower the temp they go off. I also ran my bore scope camera into the wall to see if there was some kind of contact or short behind the wall and couldn't see anything.

Was there a question D?

Can you run a seperate wire for the lights to be grounded and get it off the Tstat?

I'm wondering if any other HR owner or similar has this issue.
I'm wondering why the heating system wiring affects my lights. They are not on same circuit.
And I'm really not sure how the lights get power.

issues like that are bad grounds there is a "back feed" going through the stat....simple two wire device....get a wiring diagram for your coach and the clouds will part...
We call our coach "Charlie Brown"

UPDATE. I have parked the RV for a few more weeks so I can't trouble shoot it for awhile. I will try to isolate the thermostat ground to make sure no wires have rubbed a spot into each other behind the wall.
