The latch hard ware is missing the screws are the but wouldn’t hold the hardware let a long the bed. There 2 screws for etch side screwed into the 1/8 in ceiling panel. What was Winnebago thinking,
This is  how the PO locking up the bed.

In one of my old the cars the fabric of the top was coming down an the PO did put a wooden broom stick between the floor and the roof :P looked like a circus tent in there.

I saw in some newer RV's that they are using some sort of belt material to secure the bed. Looks like a seat- belt roller and has about the same latch. Seems like a clean and easy installation. It's also flexible which probably broke the old mount.

If you look at the picture you'll see what I call a metal beam on the roof that allows the strap to be hooked to it. Then there's a other part that hooks to the side of the bunk. You could make the straps out of an old car seat belt. Any thought this might give you some ideas. Hm?

My question is not what to use, but, how to attach it to the ceiling? Originally attached with 2 # 10 wood screws into the 1/8in plywood ceiling panel.  They striped out long ago, 2 of the holes are almost 1/4dia with a half box of tooth pics to close up the hole and kind of hold the screw.

That was my first thought but the metal bar on mine sits about 8in inside the bed platform. I'll have to give this some more thought.

How do I post pictures so they show up on my post? I have searched and can not figure it out.

Mine was missing the hanging straps entirely.  I put slide bolts on the ends and L brakets on the walls.  The slide bolts rested on top of the L brackets when extended and locked, holding up the bunk.  Retract the bolts and drop the bunk.  Worked perfectly.
