just picked up this generator was sitting beside a cottage for a few years  it was full of mice nests  took covers off and cleaned out the nests but wont turn over on the starter but has a rope pull start has spark  put gas down the carb and is puffed smoke out the exhaust looks promising that it will start any help much appreceiated

got the generator motor running cleaned carb and fuel pump put the switch on manual start and pull started it started right up let it run for 10mins steady oil pres.45psi  switched the toggle swith to electric start engine stopped switch back to manual start starts right back up on first pull  wont start or even turn over on electric start don't know why  hope I can figure it out with these manuals they look correct for this model gen

The generator portion on that very very old model is a motor generator.  It is used to start the engine.  Hope you are familiar with basic electronics.
