I have the typical brake squeel problem, makes alot of noise when stopping, I know the pads and drums/rotors are good. I have spoken with some friends and they say that it is just a glaze that built up on the rotors or drums. I would like some opinions on how best to relieve this rather noisy problem.

My feeble guess: Remove the pads, and either sand them to remove the current surface, or get new ones. And before you put them back on, smear the antisqueal goop that is sold for the purpose on cars, it goes between the pad and the caliper/piston surfaces. Then let it firm up for a while before you put the pads back on. Mine doesnt have drum brakes, so I havent personal experience. denison

Dunno if this is the same stuff denison referred to, but my son used a spray can of anti-squeal for his 350 Yamaha bike a few years ago. If it works on the pads & rotor disk of a bike it may work as well on expanding shoe & drum brakes. Advantage is that with the small plastic spray tube you may be able to spray it in behind the drum without having to pull off the wheels. Good luck. If you find a solution that works well, kindly post it.
