Hello All
Question for all of you I am having exhaust leak at manifolds. The Exhaust manifolds are
warped.
My question is do I go with stock exhaust or do I go with headers.
I would love to put the Banks exhaust system on it  But that's out of
my budget....you know what I say Happy wife Happy Life

Use the search box to look up this issue. There have been many post about this. Every year of 454 has its ups and downs because so many issues occur they try to improve them for the next year such as making cuts between each cylinder tube so they can flex. I've had mine taken off shaved down and new gaskets. That might last a few years so its up to you. You get what you pay for trust me. Just remember to use the search box. Tinytina has some good info. Good luck.

The best thing I ever did, after a new engine was to install cast iron manifolds with copper gaskets on my 87 Chieftain.  Everybody seems to move towards headers, but I don't see any point in it.  The manifolds were about 60.00 each I think plus the good gaskets.   I got rid of all the AIR stuff when I replaced the engine.  I also installed the Accel ceramic boot plug wires and those headaches are gone.  The only miss that I finally had to contend with after about 15000 miles was a donut gasket that finally went. Took about 15 minutes to replace. My 2 cents.

How do you figure out how many air pumps you have when the carbs have been chopped? Do I just need to have two since In an emissions state?
