I have couple metal fresh water tanks. 30 gallons I believe. Anyone find another use for these? Seems like a waste to toss 'em out....

Wouldn't they make superior gas tanks? Not that I need gas tanks for anything at the moment... Any other ideas?

You can always auction them local or ebay.  Use for rain collection and storage (ie water barrel).  Solar gravity feed water heating if mounted on a roof.

Cool Trunkhill. ... I bet someone with some welding skills could make a pretty neat smoker. Or smoker/grill combo with 2 of them. That is, if the galvy isn't a problem...

EDIT: After a little research, I guess galvanized metal for a grill is a bad idea.

Really REALLY BAD idea!!!!! Burning galvanized = phosgene gas.

What Rick said. Beware the green smoke.

Gave some bad info, I was thinking refrigerant burning, that creates phosgene.

Galvanized creates Metal Fume Fever.

Either way, Not good.

Well, I thought you were right Rick. We learned about phosgene gas in fire fighter school. Inhaled it converts to phosphoric acid in your lungs and they burn from the inside out.

Right circleD?

Could make them into an outdoor pet water system....  Mounted upright with a p-trap assembly at the bottom into a water bowl will make it self filling.  If you need a visual look at an office water cooler or similar pet watering device at the pet store.
