Hey guys

Looking for options for upgrading the front clearance lights on my 73 dodge 318.  The front 5 are gross and done and most likely a very old style, what have you guys done for replacement, and did you have to do extra wiring??

Also any tips for checking first to see if the power is running to them? I absolutely hate electrical but am slowly learning the basics.  Power is up the the top side markers, just wondering if they are on the same circuit.

Cheers

Many people are converting to LED marker lights.

I've got that one the Big Problem is it's impossible To read.  My back ones are all Working none in the top
In the front.  What are the two "boxes" that it shows it running to?  Trying to diagnose it but it's very hard as nothing in the d18 version has a legend or anything to go by.

Thanks

Oz

All you need to see if there's power going to them is a 12v bulb in a socket and a pos & neg wire going to it. Attach pos to pos wire in the RV to the front markers and ground the negative to a bare aluminum spot.

Looking at the pictures, I'd say all of your mounting screws are rusty and there's no ground for the lights because of it.  Each is individually grounded by the aluminum skin and the mounting screws.

I didn't get LEDs when I replaced mine.  I didn't need to re-wire, just made sure the contact area was cleaned to bare aluminum and used new screws.  You could run a common ground wire to all of them and ground it to one point to eliminate the weak method of using the mounting screws as grounds.
