Potable water drain valves leaking up

Aaarrghh

Hi, not sure if I should start a new topic on this, but I looked all through the plumbing section for an answer. I found one post from 2010 that suggested replacing o-rings, but I can't see how I'd get the valves apart to do that. Anyway, in the photo you can see where water is leaking out the tops. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this? Can they be disassembled? I don't want to start wrenching on them without knowing, for fear of breaking something I can't replace!

Alright, I got brave and got the valve out of the beast. I had to disconnect the lines. Then there was a rusted-out metal clamp holding the valve inside the neoprene(?) drain tube. It took some prying but the valve finally came up. As the photo shows, once the metal bail is removed, the stem can be pushed out the bottom.

Now the challenge is to find a replacement for at least the little o-ring on the top that keeps water from leaking into the coach.  I have 3 more similar valves to fix. I 'll check the auto parts stores tomorrow, but after that, I have no idea where to look. Can someone help me out with this?

Harbor Freight sells an o-ring kit with an assortment of sizes. If you have a store nearby you might check there.

Another option is to find a real hardware store (i.e. not the big-box ones) that has a good plumbing section, or a plumbing supply store and see what they carry in faucet repair parts that they could match to your o-rings.

The movie Twister - that research instrument? Yeah, she figured it out.

Ditto on what the others said. If the old one is intact take it in and match it.

Thank you all for the helpful suggestions. HD and Lowe's had the same great selection of o-ring sizes, but none were what I needed. I checked two independent hardwares with no luck. I checked my local RV dealer, no luck. Advance AP had just one package of assorteds. It had one that fit, the larger one, but I never found a replacement for the smaller one. Harbor Freight is a long ways off. I reckon they probably wouldn't be any better, but if I get real desperate I'll go there.

As a different approach, I sprayed some silicone lubricant into a shot glass, and left the little o-ring to soak in that for a couple hours. It seemed to swell and fit tighter. I'll do the same with the o-rings in the other valve, then see if they still leak.
