5 Kw transplant, orange wire to ignition?

So I have a 5kw onan from a 73 Indian that I want to transplant into my 72 Brave.
Questions...
What is the orange wire for that goes up the steering column?


Are there any issues with this transplant?


It looks like I have enough clearance in the compartment.

I wonder if that wire could be going up to your remote start switch on the dash???

I can't find anything that clearly identifies what you have but, and of course I'm only guessing but maybe for that vintage the ignition key had to be in the accessory position to supply power to the solenoid and allow the generator to start.
