Utility Light Switch on dash - what is it for?

I have three little rocker switches on the left side of the dash.  The first is "Utility Light", the second is "Under Hood Light", the third is for the fog lights. The rocker switches have lights but don't light up. The fog light switch is working and turns on and off the front fog lights, the "Under Hood Light" turns on the light in the front engine compartment (if the coach batteries are connected).


My question is, the rocker switch for the Utility Light - what does it turn on? I have checked with the multi-meter and there is power to the switch, but rocking it back and forth I don't see anything turning on or off.  I have tried with the chassis and coach batteries connected.


Please forgive my ignorance, the coach is almost as old as I am and have owned it only for about 2 or 3 months...

I think it's for the lights in the outside storage compartments.

I tried, but it doesn't override the lights in the storage compartments.

Hi,
I have the same two switches on my 94 Southwind.  On ours the utility switch has to be on before the storage locker lights will work, I'd check your switch, maybe someone changed how it's wired or deleted it altogether.

I found it! There is a small light just aft the door for the water/cable hook up. The bulb is good, but the fixture/housing must have a bad ground. I broke it during removal 



Any ideas where I could buy a replacement?

I think those are hard to come by.....You can try a vintage Air Stream supplier. Good luck, and let us know what you find.
