Master cylinder for a 83 cross country rv

I need help finding a master cylinder for my rv does any one no where to get vintage  parts  in California near Sacramento

I would get on RockAuto or Amazon and look up master cylinders for one year older trucks or vans from your chassis manufacturer.   That shouldn't be hard to find.  You can see images of what the new part looks like to make sure it's the same before ordering it, or at least figure out a likely part number and get it in your hand at your local auto parts store.  That way you can lay your old part on the counter next to the new part and make sure it's the same before buying it. 


That's the downside with RockAuto, it's easy to order the wrong part and then you have to ship it back.

Please ID you chassis model correctly.  You say Chevy chassis but list a Dodge 440 engine.  No one can help you properly if you don't provide the correct information.  For chassis parts, the RV mfg/model is normally no help.  Is it a Class A (motorhome chassis) or Class C (Van chassis)?  If 1983, would most likely be a chevy P30 chassis if class A.  If so, will need to if it is  front disk/rear drum (JB8) or 4 wheel disk brakes (JF9)   1983 will be a hydroboost system.  Need to know all tis to select the correct parts.  Most auto supply carries or can order the parts as long as you know exactly what you have.  And no, a 71 Apollo on a Dodge M375 chassis nothing like a 1983 Chevy P30 chassis.

I noticed the same conflicting info with the profile too.   I just want to emphasize that just b/c technically it's "vintage" doesn't mean you have to limit your parts search to specialized supply houses.  1983 parts are still readily available at any NAPA, OReilly's etc.

I agree.  You just need to know clearly what chassis you have to find the right parts.   The majority of parts counter guys have no clue about a motorhome chassis whether it's a unique class A or enhanced Class C van chassis.

Try and ID the correct chassis year. One year difference, especially transition years, can make a difference in what parts you need. Making a blanket assumption that chassis are a different year than the rig can be an expensive mistake. 


My 91 was built in November 90 and the chassis is a 91 as well, per the chassis vin.
