The TRAVOY, the first Oldsmobile Toronado 455 CID V8 rated at 375 HP powertrain used to power a RV that set land speed records in the 1960's.  It apparently was the inspiration for the GMC coach in the 70's.

The article I provided the link to says a blazing 97.613 on May 16, 1970 at El Mirage.  NOt bad for a Class A RV of that era.

It did not say if it  was totally stock or not.

Can you imagine the cleanup if that thing had crashed?! They would be out there for a week with shovels and brooms. D:oH! :)rotflmao

They said that it was stock but they removed the mufflers
