Quote from: Eyez Open on December 13, 2024, 03:59 PMHmmm now the question is will the bumpers fit into that oven? After all one just simply cannot have a grill that's stated and bumpers looking a bit edgy?

Just saying...

Not!!won't fit but a good white epoxy paint with a hardener will do the job..The white that is on the bumper is just that..The steel rims were painted that way too and it was a hard job getting them sand blasted clean..

Quote from: Elandan2 on December 13, 2024, 05:10 PMI'm thinking that the next project will be a chrome plating operation.

No chroming here in Taxifornia..Totally against the law..Even the chemicals need to chrome in your garage are against the law to ship here..

Quote from: Eyez Open on December 13, 2024, 07:28 PMPowedercoating can yield extraordinary results;

The thing about powder coating is it is totally EPA exempt..Because it creates no toxic fumes..

So the little oven like mine is no problem..Your next door neighbor wouldn't even know you are doing it..

The only thing that pro powder shops have to worry about is the sand used for sand blasting..The sand not so much but the stuff that is being blasted off mixed with the sand..

Things are moving along..More pictures tomorrow

How does that system work?? I really don't have anything that needs chrome..Paint or powder coat or buffing pretty much covers it

Finished all the walls-floor-ceiling..start up on the assemble..

Propped the back wall and secured it to the floor..flipped it around..

Installed the right wall..ran out of daylight..more tomorrow..

I think I over built this..Just a tad..Maybe..

But we are going to have that shiny grill come hell or high water!! $@!#@!

There is a lot more on this motorhome that will benefit from this oven..It would have been nice to have it during the time I was Powder coating the rims..

I wish I had built this thing long ago, in spite of this grill..

Heating elements and door sealing rope on order..The controllers are here..In essence the oven will be 2 ovens..with a removable wall in the center..if one side is all that is needed, just use the 1 controller..If you want the whole oven, remove the center wall and turn on both controllers..

Each side will have 2 burners..

Pics show the assemble of the walls and finally the top..Excess insulation laid on top..But I will need some of that for the doors..still needing to be built..

Last picture shows how to make spacers for the grid pieces..Copper tubing cut to length..

This is to fix the 1 grill hat I tore apart..The other grills will be left as they are..

I know that it has been some time since I posted last..It has been a frustrating week trying to get this set up for the wire system..

Here is where it started..This PID controller..

https://www.ebay.com/itm/387650176548?var=654891601646

DO NOT..and I repeat...DO NOT>>>DO NOT (have I made my self clear?) buy this controller..

If you do, be sure to have at least a 5 pound sledge hammer at your ready..
This thing gave me so much frustration just to get it to show Fahrenheit instead of Celsius..

I was never able to do the change over..It came on and turned the burners on..But I wasn't going to let that pass..

Then the wire (10 AWG oven wire)..I bought 25 feet from here..

https://www.ebay.com/itm/302146517584  Didn't have enough..should have bought 50 feet..

Bought a sub panel to have (home depot) for the power in..

So I bought this PID controller...

https://www.ebay.com/itm/322417918900

And it is so much better..The sheet of paper for the instructions is actually written in decent English..The other 1 was not..

Changing it from C to F was easy..You just hit the set button till the proper area for the settings are and there is the option for the "Units"..either C or F..It is that easy..

So this is going to have 2 control boxes..Where control for the left side and right side have their own controller..

With a removable wall vertical in the middle..With the wall in you can have a smaller heating area..

With the wall out you have the full area (to fit a grill in   )

So there is 2 burners for each side..with just the 2 going on the left side this is my meter reading..

4.9 Kilowatts..The neighbors house lights are going to dim when I turn this thing on

I may only use 1 burner on each side to see how long it takes to heat up..But I got 2 for each side if I need it..

So waiting for the second controller and the wire to finish wiring..

Need to make doors and the center wall..

That is all...
