Got a question!!!

Is it possibal to oil the fan on an AC unit? Mine runs for an hour or so then starts whinning.  If I  try to run it on a low setting it won't start. It will on High, but I know dat ain't right!:}:}

Do I just need to replace it?
Thanks for any thoughts..... Elk

Yes Elk, you can oil the fan motor on your A/C unit.

Remove the plastic cover, and you will find the fan motor nestled in the middle between the condensor and the evaporator air box, right next to the compressor.  On top of the motor body there are two plastic plugs, on on the front edge of the motor, on on the rear edge.

Remove those two plugs, and squirt some 3-In-1 oil into them.  You don't want to add too much, but about 10 drops each should be sufficient for another year.  If that doesn't cure the problem, then the motor bearings are probably shot.
