Roof coating replacement

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how you re-do the roof covering? Mine looks pretty bad, and a small amount of water is getting through around the ac. Do I scrape the old stuff off then recoat? Or just coat over whats there? Thanks Seek

I JUST FINISHED MY ROOF. SCRAPED THE OLD SEALENT OFF AND RESEALED ALL SEAMS. USED SNOW ROOF SEALENT AND SEAM TAPE ON THE FRONT AND REAR SEAL. PULLED AND REPLACED THE FOAM SEAL UNDER THE A/C UNIT. GOT THE SEAL FROM CAMPI NG WORLD. PUT 3 COATS OF COOL SEAL ON THE FULL ROOF.
