I installed some heat sheaths(boots) DEI-010409 pack of 4  $7.69 from Summit Racing

They were a lot less expensive that anything else I have seen. Photos in Tumble Bug chassis album.

JD,

I have been using the braided sock like shields from NAPA and they have worked fairly well but are pricey. Instead of replacing the wires every 1K miles, the last set of wires ran about 10K miles with the socks. It's always the plug wires on either side of the dump that get cooked.

When I replaced the 10K set, I bought the best wires I could get from NAPA that they had in stock, larger diameter and silicone coated, that ran about $50 for the set, I think it was. I was told there's a set that can be ordered from NAPA for about $125 that will supposedly last for years. Anybody tried these?

Also, how have the aluminum shields from Summit worked for you? Jeff

I got the super conductor wires from Summit with multi-position caps.  With being able to position the caps as I wanted and the generous wire length, I was able to route the wires much more sensibly away from the manifolds.  They have a very low ohm resistance but it does not interfere with the radio.

I just got the heat al sheaths and the original heat shields are also in place.  I also added plug wires that were longer to route away from exhaust also.  All is new so we'll have to see about the durability.   Plug wires are standard issue stuff from O'Riely,
