Loosening rusted manual Entrance step

Having issues with my current step, it’s a hickory double step, step. The pivot points are too rusted to make the step move freely folding and unfolding. I have tried PB Blaster and WD-40 to loosen up, but not working. As I start my research to look for a new step, I have notice several brands and they also have a large gap in pricing range ($74 â€" $187). Any recommendations on a brand?    Or a better way to loosen the rust. The steps are basically sound, just don’t unfold.

Try some heat. I have a small mobile welding business and do most of my work on heavy equipment. when ever I  run into a problem like that, I use the torches to expand the metal and when its red hot a tap with the  hammer and it should come unseezed. Then grease it up good so it dose not seize up next time it sits for a while.
If you don't have a set of oxy acetylene your local garage will and it shouldn't take more then 5 min. time.

If it's made of Hickory you might try a different type of wood, just kidding.  One thought is sand blasting, boy that really takes the rust off.  I have made good friends with a neighbor who owns a body shop.  The only thing better than getting something sand blasted is "free" sand blasting.

Don't know how long or much PT blaster you've used. Once a day for a week or so usually tackles the worst bolt, but...

If PT Blaster didn't work the next "step" is to unbolt the steps to see if you can separate them... then you can grind them down, repaint, grease etc...  Our stairs were bent and finicky so I ended up buying a new set at Sands RV 2 Jams ago. Think I paid $60. You may want to see if there is a magic junkyard near you. Don't think brand makes a difference... just measure the current one for width.
