No backup lights ??

I just realized / discovered that my new-to-me Brave has no backup lights. I mean that they don't exist.
Huh ?? How did I miss that? Hopefully, the wires are there somewhere.

I know I'm sticking my neck out here but I don't think by the looks of it that there were ever any back up lights on it.  As a matter of fact I don't recall seeing any of that vintage with stock back up lights. If I might be so bold let me suggest you might consider going to Princess Auto or Canadian Tire and purchasing a pair of auxiliary lights and mount them under your bumper with a dash mounted switch. While not necessary they are niece to have. Personally I'm looking for four recessed docking lights from a boat at a reasonable price. So if any one has any stashed away let me know.

Dodge supported backup lamp circuits (nuetral safety/backup light switch on the transmission) however it is up to the coach builder (Winnebago in this case) to provide lamp assemblies and wiring to the rear of the chassis.  Dodge wiring circuit number is B14 and it is a 18 gauge black wire with a rubber connector.  Should go down inside the left side frame rail.  The 74 Brave brochure on the Winnebago site does reflect backup lamps on it.  Most likely a PO installed new rear lamps assemblies that didn't have backup lights incorporated.

I second TJ's idea with one change... mount them on top of the bumper... .we added a set to Gone to help backing up in the dark.... and we have since had to install another set because we hit a low dip in the road and crushed the first set which was mounted below the hitch brace.... Pat just ran the wire along the chasis and drilled in a nice led tip toggle along side our dash fan switches near the instrument panel...

They were integrated into the original tail light assemblies. the wires are probably still there. look where the wiring comes up throught the floor by the "trunk"
I'm sure they were disconnected, and the tail lights you have now are trailer tail lights. Similar, but they dont have the reverse lights in them.

On older rigs, like my 72, the reverse lights are separate, and mount down near the bumper.

if it helps on my 73 brave there are reverse lites just below the stop and tail altough they do appear as aftermarket
assemblies they aapear that they were equipped withem
