This may be a completely silly question... My air filter cover is pretty rusty/dingy and I was planning on painting it.  Do I need to use a high temp paint? I'm only planning on doing the top piece. I'm thinking candy apple red gloss  :)... to match the red vacuum hoses (if I can find the right sizes in red that is)...

I was going to do this last time I had the doghouse off then was like, ya know, I better ask the experts before I use the wrong kind of paint and create a disaster!

Thanks

You don't even need high temp paint it, but it sure couldn't hurt.  I painted both parts of my air cleaner housing with a standard gloss black and it hasn't blistered or peeled.
