Fabricated this out of weld steel pieces and bolted to the existing carrier.

I'll probably add a small chain and lock for anti theft security.

Make a nice rubber bumper also.

How does the stock bracket handle the extra weight?

There was someone once here in CW that mounted two tires to the factory bracket. It didn't take long for the weight of the tires on the original bracket to bend and break. I seem to remember they got to a Jamboree to find their dual spare tires just about dragging the ground.

Not that I think Larry's is going to do the same, because I think all they did was use extended studs, but it is a lot of weight on the bracket.

Larry, did you reinforce the original upright steel arm? or just the mount point? Your's is also a different bracket than the swing out arm on most winnies (like the one on your old Winnie).

I'd hate to see anyone go down the road with their spares draggin'...
