Thermo Quad blunder!!!!

I have done all that I can think of to get this thing right. It DOES not have a stuck valve, or vacuum leaks. I recently was given a Thermo quad for my 78 Dodge 440-3. The original one someone did a number on it. The plastic bowel was broke beyond repair. So I put another on. All it does is burp out of the carb and my secondaries do not open. Then a generous member here gave me a very nice Thermo Quad. This one has two ports that I have no Idea where they go, or if I should cap them off. First one is the Enrichment valve. Is this something I can use and hook up? Or something that can be capped? It sounds too me like it may be helpful to me on the altitude? The second one is the bowel vent? Or is that part of the choke? I was told is was part of the choke. It is 3/8 in dia. off the top of the carb next to primaries. My original carb did not have this on it and I have to deal with CA. emissions. If anyone has advice  on this PLEASE let me know. I have been a mechanic for 20 yrs, and I feel REALLY stupid with this. I feel I should know this, but for some reason I am not getting this Thanks every one!!!!!

Enrichment valve:
75-81. This is a driveability enhancement. It supplements the choke function by allowing an even richer mixture during the warm up period to improve driveability. This will appear as a small attachment on the front bowl cover that has a vacuum port that connects to a coolant temperature sensor (CCIE), then to manifold vacuum with bleed. It will also be plumbed into the EGR delay timing system.

bowel vent:
78-84. In an effort to completely capture all fuel bowl evaporative emissions, the standard bowl vent was redesigned with a two way valve and holding solenoid at the rear of the carburetor. When the engine starts, manifold vacuum pulls the valve rubber 'puck' down, opening the bowl to the canister port. The solenoid is connected to the ignition run circuit and holds the valve open during low vacuum periods while running. When the engine is shutdown, the valve releases and reseals the float bowl. Connects to rear base port, color code gold.

Your 78 chassis should have had a 9051S model TQ.

If the carb you have has extra ports, then you can try to plug them but you may have emmisions testing issues.
