Towing an '86 Camry?

I would like to tow my 86 Toyota Camry. It has an automatic trans, can this yr be towed? Or should I look for a dolly? Thanks for all the help guys.

I always recommends a flatbed trailer, This would avoid all wear and tear issues on the car/truck being towed

Downside is 4 more tires and 4 more wheel bearings, More weight, additional registration (Plates) And parking requires more space. A dolly (empty) can be moved around by hand. only has 2 tire and wheel bearings And does not require a Plate  Though both require lights. Decisions, decisions  Ha Ha   Frank

Not true, In Most states dolly are required to have plates and this includes California where mycommander and I both reside

for automatic tranny 3 options:

flat bed
dolly with drive wheels up on it
TOAD - four down but - need transmission cooling  package added to car  and also a "Blue Ox" or some other tow bar plus tow plate installed on car...

Alternative - buy a manual tranny car to tow - need towbar, tow plate - put car in neutral done....

Or, you could do as I am, I got a 30ft travel trailer and am gutting it out, plan in a rampgate and installing all my tools including an 100gal air compresser.

I will have my MH and a rolling shop in tow with room for my 02 focus.

They also sell a product called "Axel Lock" which is a manually disconnectable replacement CV axle. It replaces the existing right side CV axle, and you can lock/unlock the axle by turning the wheels all the way to the right, and reaching under, rotating the axle to lock/unlock it. It allows a automatic car to be flat towed without having to add a remote transmission pump. You will need to call to see if it's available anymore, as the catalog page for it was unavailable, but it's still listed in the company's product line up.
