Is it worth installing an awning?

I can agree with that equation.  Get soaked just once in a cold, pouring rain while fumbling to get the key in the door with no awining over you and, yup, you'd be wishing you had one!

An additional agreement.

Once while buggy riding/camping some friends brought only a 2 person tent. Thunderstorm started moving in so we helped them move thier tent under our awning and they had a very dry nights sleep. Plus we sat up outside with them enjoying some adult beverages watching it rain. And yes, we invited them in to sleep but they preferred to "rough it".

That's funny. One year I was at Oshkosh Wi. at the airshow in my 28 foot Travelmate motorhome. We had a hell of a storm come through the one day and all that night. Camp sites were at a premium. I got up in the dark in the morning for an early coffee and went bum over apple cart when I went out the door. WHAT THE ?????? I tripped over a tent. Seems a couple of Lads from California came in in the middle of the night after teaming and driving all night is the rain storm. I was pouring cats and dogs and they couldn't find a place to set up. They were hoping I would mind if they set there tents up under my awing where it was dry. I couldn't believe someone would do something like that. Well we had a good laugh over it and we became best of friends and met at Oshkosh every year for 35 years after that. Yep put an awing on. What an adventure.  :)clap

Excellent story LJ, or is it TJ?
Anyway......

More than once rain has moved in while we're on our outings and the rv's with awnings become social gathering spots. Often the community food tables end up under our awning and its standing room only.

Enough chat. Get an awning.

He's TJ... but, if he'd look like LJ, he'd be a whole lot easier to look at...  just sayin'
