Is it a Fuel Pump?

In trying to get read for the NECWJ I was under the winny trying to get the gas gauge working when I found something that looks like a electric fuel pump.It has three hoses and one wire on the bottom.Further investigation showed they weren't hooked up to anything and that I have only one fuel tank hooked up.While I have a rear tank it's not hooked up to anything.Anybody no what I found?where can I buy a new one. HELP!

The fuel tank selector valve/solenoid looks like an electric fuel pump. Perhaps that is what you saw - maybe 2 inch diameter, and 4 inches tall. It has 3 hoses, or metal lines, and one electric wire. It is bolted to the frame rail on mine, on the passenger side not far from where the tanks are.
One rubber hose comes from each tank, and about 6 inches from the valve/solenoid they connect to the metal tubing that actually goes into the valve/solenoid. There is a 3rd metal line that runs forward to the fuel pump, and has the fuel filter in it, next to the pump at the front of the engine.
The electric wire switches it to the other tank, at least if it isn't gummed up inside. I presume new ones can be bought at RV supply places, and there are two types. The early model RVs only switched the 2 fuel lines, and had 3 fuel line connections. Later model RVs also have to switch the fuel return lines too, so have 6 instead of 3 tube connections.
If yours isn't hooked up, its probably a sign it wasnt working, or that the unused tank has a gummed up pickup tube, or has a leak.

Denison, that is exactly what he found.  An electric fuel pump would have two wires, and only two hoses (in and out).

The fuel tank selector can be bought at Auto Zone, Advanced Auto, etc.  I don't recall the part number, but I bought my replacement at the Advanced Auto store in Knoxville, TN.  I had to order it, but it was there the next morning.

The cost was around $17.00 if I remember right.

I hate to be a pain in the butt, but does anybody know if I can get a fuel sending unite at Auto Zone or Advanced Auto Parts as well Thanks T.J.

Its likely you could, since the mopar fuel level sender of the 70s was fairly common in their cars, pickups, vans and trucks. If not, www.jcw.com and you can order it online. put in the key words --fuel level float--. $17 plus shipping.
