I have a 1979 Minnie Winnie (dodge 440 dually) that I bought with the intentions of re modeling/ updating the interior to make traveling easier for my family.I know nothing about RVs but have built homes and am an industrial maintenance engineer/ Maintenace man so I have no fear of doing this however I have run into a few snags.
I dont have the original owners manual so no I dea what the weight rateing is for this rig. Also I have no idea what kind of frameing is underneith or how it is laid out (plumbing, electrical etc) behind the panels.
Could someone please point me in the right direction before I remove something that I shouldnt, or overload my rig

On your RV there are a couple of placards that tell you what your Chassis model is and all pertinent weight information for the chassis.
We also have an extensive collection of manuals pertaining to Chassis in the site store.

One of those would be very helpful.

Once you figure out your GVWR, get the RV weighed, subtract that from the GVWR and the remainder is what you can tow.  If I have that right..

I hope that helps.

First you need to establish which model of Minnie Winne you have from the brochures

http://www.winnebagoind.com/products/previous-models/1979/pdfs/winnebago/79-MinnieWinnie-bro.pdf

http://www.winnebagoind.com/products/previous-models/1979/pdfs/winnebago/79-MinnieWinnie2-bro.pdf

Once you know which model of Minne Winne you have we can then locate the parts book for your rig. http://catalog.winnebagoind.com/menu/Parts.htm

The GVWR for the rig you have is listed in the brochures which can be used, along with the chassis VIN to help identify the Dodge chassis.

MB300 - 9000 GVWR
MB400 - 10500 or 11500 GVWR based on wheelbase

The chassis manuals in our web store do not cover the MB300/400 Van chassis.  You will have to locate that manual on EBAY.

Thanks for the help. I have figured out that it is a 23RB. I think that means it is a MB400. I will have to get it weighed before I get to far and go from there. Will try to post some pics once I get going on it.
