How long should water pump run until it reaches the right pressure?

I replaced the 12V converter and hooked up the pressure pump. I let it run for 5 minutes but began to wonder if it will shut itself off at a certain pressure?  I don't want to break it. There was enough pressure after five minutes to run taps and shower. How long do yours run before reaching pressure?

It should run until it reaches 50psi.

If you have a pressurized system (which it sounds like from your description - an "on demand" system will only run while a water outlet is being used after initially purging any air in the system), I would highly recommend getting the Eyebrow Winnebago Coach manual in the store.  It's one of the best values out there for the price and it covers the entire water system (and many, many other coach related topics) in great detail, with exploded diagrams, testing, troubleshooting, etc. which apply to your RV!

Not sure what brand/type you have.  Mine is "on demand".  Meaning once I got all the air bubbles out, it just comes on when a faucet is used. 
What I did was one by one run the shower, bathroom sink, etc. until air is gone.  Remember you might have to bleed air from water heater too, which might take awhile.
You might post Brand/model # so if someone has personal knowledge they can chime in..

PS..  As Mark said the Eyebrow Winnebago Coach manual in the store is the best money I've spent in regards to my Winnie.  I had the original paperwork on my pump but the manual puts all the pieces together.

Wondered the same question myself!


On my pump there's a screw on the end to set the pressure... not sure how you go about that though!
