MoonlitCoyote had a good question in the toolbox chat:
"are all holiday ramblers made of aluminum?"

I'm not totally sure of older models BUT all "Aluma-lite" Holiday Ramblers are, so yes.. :D

Moonlitcoyote, check this photo out.  It's pretty cool. It shows the frame of the HR line of RV's..

It's an all aluminum frame.. :D

On ours, even parts of the main frame are Aluminum.  Its a frankenstein that takes a Chevy P30 frame, then Oshkosh replaced a lot of the main frame with thick box aluminum, and then Holiday Rambler put it all together using a Mor/Ryde rear suspension.

Oshkosh?  I thought they only adapted the Ford running gear.

Nope...they worked with Holiday Rambler to lighten up the main frame and made the modified chassis for HRC.  Not sure what years that spanned, but it was the case in 89 for sure.

Thank you for that info, I have seen a couple of pictures of holiday ramblers on here and thought that if/when I upgrade that is what I would like to go with. I also read on here somewhere that with aluminum siding I would not have to worry about delamination of the sides so that is a major plus to consider.

But don't run into it with anything.  It can be a PITA to straighten out!

Have a look at my Glove Box pic again in the Show n Tell blog. You see that orange thing all the way to the right?  That's a Manual suction cup I used to pull some small dents Out of the roof and a couple on the sides, true story...

Yea, I have some spots that need worked out and SOMEONE left the door bar out that holds it open and put a hole in the side. I'll have to get creative  Hm?  Maybe pull out what I can then epoxy and put a piece of diamond plate over it. Yes aluminum is great put the repairs can be costly.
