So I was looking to order some front brake parts for my '73 Mini-Winnie and I was assuming B300 van parts would be the same.

Then I thought I'd better check by getting a manual from here.  But I can't even see which manual would be the right one ?

So can anyone help as to whether I'm right about the B300 thing, or as to which manual/s would be useful to me ?

Thanks in advance

Steve

Dave can confirm whether this is the right parts manual you will want:

I'm pretty sure though that this will be correct.

So is it called M300 instead of B300 because it's a Motorhome ?  Or something ?

Been 24 years getting my head around Chrysler E-body stuff and now this - LOL

I wish I could say that is the manual but, sorry to say, it is not.  That one is for the Class A chassis only.

The Class C series is MB300 or MB400 chassis

Dodge Van breakdown:
The B100 (1/2 ton), B200 (3/4 ton), B300 (1 ton) are the typical passenger/cargo vans

The CB300 (1 ton) and CB400 (1 1/2 ton) are the commercial box body vans

The PB100 (1/2 ton), PB200 (3/4 ton), PB300 (1 ton) are the commercial passenger wagon vans

and finally what you are interested in is the MB300 (1 ton) and MB400 (1 1/2 ton) partial body (frontend) used for Class C RV's.

Chassis Parts are different for the different variations.

Groovy - thanks Dave,

So does this mean I was on the right track thinking B300 front brake parts would be compatible, or do I maybe need to look at CB300 or CB400 stuff?

How do I know whether she's based on a 1 ton or 1 1/2 ton ?

Look on drivers side door for the Dodge VIN plate.   The VIN should look similar to B30xxxxxxxxxx where:
B = Van
3 = 300 Series
0 = MB300 Front Section

72-73 Dodge VIN Decoder

Using IE9 or later, Chrome, or Firefox browser
Now go to: NAPA E-Catalog Rack

Select Brake System Parts
Select Brake Systems 1979 and Prior
I am not 100% sure if you want the information on page 313 (MBH/MBL) or 320 (Ram CB300) however, this gets you as close as I can for brake parts.  Use same type of approach for other parts

However looking through the Dodge Truck section (pages 309-354) you can see the different references to the Van data (B, CB, PB, MB) even if it is mixed in with pickup data (D [2 wheel drive],W [4 wheel drive] data.  Oh, the A-100 was the combo van/pickup Dodge had for a few years.  Dodge version of a Chevy El Camino.

Some times you have to use part description and measurements on the NAPA regular site (or the illustrative brake parts guide) to ID the correct part.  You get to be a parts detective  W%   :laugh:

He he

Good weather here so I've done a couple of jobs today - fixed an exhaust leak (turned out to be a badly fitting EGR blanking plate) and checked out the timing curve - it was set at 2 degrees initial with 22 degrees in the plate (so 24 degrees total) all in by about 2900 rpm (and with a non-linear advance).

So I'm going to have to re-curve it, but for now I've just advanced it 8 degrees accross the board and not surprisingly it runs noticeably better.

Let the good times roll

Wow, too many numbers, and so many degrees I feel separated from Kevin Bacon... ???
