The information center wend dead on my 89 Chieftain. I pulled the front cover and I have no power into the center at all. All of the breakers are good, there is none for that unit. I am going to dive into the wiring diagrams for a 1990 but I don't know if they are the same and I have noticed that the diagrams are not all that good or accurate. This info center controls my water pump. water heater and all of the tank indicators. This thing is really starting to get to me. I am think that if I ever get it going I am going to sell it right away before more issues pop up. I just cannot afford to have a different problem every day. It needs a new TV antenna but I do not see any way possible to get to the wiring without removing the ceiling and that would entail removing the entire interior. That ain't happening!

I looked at the 1990 31RQ and 33RQ diagrams.  Power to the information center comes in on pin 1 (14 Gauge Purple wire; circuit JA).  Feed by the Monitor/TV CB in the Control Center.

Dave, you won't believe this one. I was tracing out wires inside the control center and fond a small black module in the back with the power wires on it. Power on one and not the other, BINGO! Don't know what it is at this point but it is the problem. I reach up under the vent hood, this is over the stove, and to the left of the filter up in the recess is a square plastic something. I can feel it but not see it. I poke at the end of it and it has some sort of a button. I am playing with that and getting nothing and the next thing I know a fuse falls out. It is a fuse holder in the most unlikely spot and not on any diagram! Replace the 20 amp fuse and everything works. I have not tried the hood fan since the last time I tried it this all came about. I think the old fuse may have been weak but I will worry about that aty another time, I do not need the vent fan. So if you lose power to your control panel above the stove. The one that has the indicators for the tanks and also the pump switch and water heater switch, feel behind the left side next to the vent filter for a fuse holder.

That sure was some detective work there, Sir Shirlock!  Isn't it funny some of the fixes to things come in the strangest ways, in the weirdedst places?!
