I need to replace the kitchen faucet.  What do I need to know about it  i?? ? Get one at Menards or Lowes?  Are they basically the same as a household faucet?

For an easy install, just make sure you find the correct size.   More common in RVs are 4" faucets.    (4" between the hot / cold input tubes, sometimes called a centerset)    Most household kitchens faucets today are Widespread (8") or Single Hole, but bathrooms are normally 4".    As for the connections, they can vary, but you can usually find adaptors in the big box stores to adapt.

As per ibdilbert01
check your center set first.
Connection adaptors are easy - through hole centers are far more difficult to change.
If you go into a big box knowing your center set you should have no problem.
When it comes to changing out it would help if you are either double jointed or an octopus.
Mechanic's mirror also helps.
