Here is a pic of my grey tank outlet.  It goes from 3" to maybe 1.5" pipe then back to a 3" adapter for the dump.   Hm?   Is this typical?  Is the smaller line adequate to dump?

Also, does this look like its been repaired?  I'm sure I see cracks on the bottom of the tank near the outlet.  The cracks are pink, as in RV antifreeze colored  i?? .  But doesn't appear to be leaking, yet.

It does look repaired in fact.  It might not look like a good repair job, but that could just be due to age. It could also be a bad repair. Have you tried filling the tanks with just straight water to test for leaks?

Last time we used it, about three years ago, no leaks.  I will put some water in there soon to test.  Thanks!

I've never seen anything like that.  The tubing should be the larger size the entire way.  A restriction down to 1½" would really slow down the draining process.  Makes no sense to me.

Well that strange plumbing will leave quite a bit of water in the bottom of the tank to freeze. While I could see where the valve might break from ice the tank should have plenty of expansion room and Should not crack unless that 1 1/2 line goes in that far and could create an obstruction for the ice to leverage against.

Rick I didn't even think about a freeze problem with that setup.  So if this probably wasn't factory, any ideas why it was done?

If they share a common dump outlet, is it possible the black tank could have been draining back into the grey tank?  Solved by draining black then grey.

Dave I have two different dump outlets.  The black is in front of the duals, and this one is in the back of the rig.
