Cut my access hatch and now how to get the pump out. Need to go get a brass drift to rotate the flange? Which direction?

Ok, it's CCW, used a piece of aluminum as a drift. The pump to pipe connection looks very familiar! Plus the filter sock is sacked.

The floor of this Fleetwood is quite sturdy. Vinyl flooring, OSB, plywood, blue foam and sheet metal. SHARP sheet metal    :(

I have heard it is best to use a OEM pump.  People have had bad luck using the AIRTEK brand.

A sacked sock. Usually the small tubing deteriorates and it causes loss of fuel pressure.

A very sad sacked sock.

Yep, here's what's left of it!

How about a pic of the access hole with the floor reinstalled? I'm just curios on how it looks so when I drop my tank sometime I'll cut a hole for future work.

DonD

Circ D I will take pics when finished.

Pump in, vroom. Easy install in minutes but now to put the floor back together.

Highly recommend the floor hatch access method.

New pump is quiet compared to old.

Good job Don! I did notice that I can hear my pump running when I'm near the tank, and especially if I take the fuel cap off.  At least I know its running.

Ta-dah!!

The patch goes from the carpet to almost the far edge of the mirror, full width of the floor for the vinyl. The floor itself has a bit smaller patch.
The anticipation (dread) of this repair was worse than the actual work.

!-! The only drawback is the break in fire stop !-! By opening the metal floor It is almost impossible to redo it completely . Do not eliminate the metal replacement if at all possible . Otherwise it does make access of fuel tank easier. But would never pass a federal regulation ! An extra fire extinguisher would be a good idea at repair site Frank

The new pump performed well on it's first outing. Never missed a beat climbing 5000 ft for a net alt gain of 3000 in 75 mi.
