I have a 1989 Itasca 27'. Have owned it for about three years. The first year, I lived in it full time while parked at my daughter's house. My daughter and family drove it from Ft Lewis when her husband got out of the ARMY. They said it performed flawlessly towing a fully packed mini van and 4 kids. My son in law is an excellent mechanic, and kept the RV in tip-top shape. They actually lived in it for another year while building their house. The unit sat empty for the past year while I was in Texas tending my sister, who is in poor health and in a nursing home.

Now that she is going to be coming to a home in GA, I will be moving back into the RV, but it will be "on the road" . I have spent 6 months rebuilding the brakes, replacing transmission lines, and general utilities maintenance.   I am looking forward to making some short trips to shake down everything, then gathering the fortitude to try something on a larger scale.... A trip to Idaho to visit my other daughter.  I plan on towing a Cherokee 4x4 4 down, and taking about a month or so to make the trip.

Having no S&B to worry about, I have most of my things in storage. Are there any words of wisdom you can provide?  Which road plan would you recommend?

Sorry for being long winded....

Not much advice I can give other than well wishes and to obviously keep a survival kit on hand and lots of fluids, fix a flat etc haha. I know more experienced minds will comment soon but best of luck to you!

Noop! Sounds like you got it covered. Just take your time enjoy the trip and if you run into any trouble get back on here as fast as you can. Have a good trip. :)ThmbUp
