So of course its always something.. 8 plugs, new wires, new cap, new rotor, new ignition control module, in line fuel filter... and smelled gas when I stopped... and looked.. and side of tank was damp with a couple drips at bottom looking for gravity help...  Happens only when running.  good news its a drip not a flow only when running.

Looks to be coming from port at top of tank where the multiple lines run out from driver side top.  There is what I guess is single return line other side nearer to fill port.  Drips are both sides of tank as I guess runs across while driving/turning etc...

Of course tank sits against frame rail and was dropped in from top into the supports.  4" between tank top and floor of RV.  I may be able to get hands to it over frame rail... guessing most likely hoses, fittings, bung need replacing...   No I don't have the tools etc to do this supports look to be welded on from top of frame vs bolted.  Tank has surface rust but is solid otherwise.  Guessing I should while the tank is most likely removed get it cleaned, relined, and put a new in tank fuel pump in... just all as PM.  or should I take the approach if it ain't broke don't fix it?

On my 85' P30, I was able to take a floor jack and support the tank, then loosen the four strap hanger bolts, then the tank dropped down far enough to get my arms in there and fix a similar leak that I had. Mine was a loose hose clamp. All my rubber lines were only two years old. Your tank should drop out the bottom I would think?

I have never seen a tank that is supported by welded in hangers. Mine fits very tight between the frame rails but it is held there by straps from side to side and bolts at the ends. Mine has the 80 gallon tank.

You poor bastages, with your tanks that don't have access to the top...lmfao!!!  ;)

Yup crawled under and she is bolted up.. also noticed all the connections which will have to be removed to lower the tank..  Kev- by the time I get done mine may have a floor port.. LOL... I am quite handy with a jigsaw....

Should I replace lines as I go.. definitely will replace all Fernco like connectors... and hose clamps and the bolts, and I have an external fuel pump on side of tank... and and and and...

I replaced every hose and clamp when I dropped mine. I have a thread about dropping and removing the tank. You just need to drop it. I have pics on that post also. Don't forget about the sending unit if you want to replace it also  i??

You have an external pump? Is this something you put in? You are not looking at the regulator are you? And yes, definitely replace all the rubber lines while you have it down.

tiinytina

Yes there is what I believe is an external pump as looks just like the pump on the genny.  round 6" tall or so about 2.5" wide,, tube in tube out, wired.  looks OEM...  Will see if I can borrow a boat bay in the biz that painted Gone for me if they have space avail...  then again.. don't want gas all over either.

Will look for tank drop post.. I searched gas tank leak.
