Is there an easier fix for a soft roof spot from the interior or do I have to peel the top off like a sardine can? I have the steel braces installed on the inside of my 76 and have already looked at the 2 links posted in most common questions section. Has anyone tried this before? I really do not want to peel the top off right now.........Share your thoughts  :)

Also which is the best product for the type of roof I have (76 Brave) to reseal everything for now? Previous owner used a lovely black Henrys product that is all cracked now on all the joints and vents. Going to be fun removing all that stuff! LOL

Will it be harder for me if I just sealed all the joints with the correct product for now and then attacked the roof later when i have time to take on the sardine way? Thanks

Well the best repair does involve ripping the roof off

That is absolutely the best way to go. as you will learn from reading the inner ceiling sits on top of the walls and patches rarely solves the problem.

Also this roof repair helps solves a few known issues with flat roofs.

Is there an easier way to repair the roof from the inside?... Boy, don't we all wish!  But, unfortunately - No, there isn't.  There's no easy way to deal with roof rot from the inside.

We have some incredibly excellent topics on "how I repaired (and replaced) my roof" here which you will easily find using the message search or the FAQs.

The replies which detailed how members fixed their roof problems have been added to the "Roof Sealants, repair and replacement" topic.
