air conditioner compressor ports - Which is the low side?

89 chieftain both ports on a/c compresser are the same size one says s the other says d witch is the low side? thanks jeno

s would be my guess for suction low side is the bigger hose

Low side hose comes from the evaporator in passenger compartment.  Depending on configuration, that may be via the accumulator.
High side hose goes directly to the condenser mounted in front of the radiator.

S= Suction and D= Discharge. Suction is the low side.
