$74 each.... it would cost $100 each,at least, for 16" tires. I can get 8R17.5's for $159 each (actually IN STOCK, not the Tire rack lies about being able to get them...HA!)

So, it will cost an additional 25 bucks per wheel....to go to 16's ...or just get the 17.5's....

What to do?

I'm still looking for 6 rims... Hard to find. Most junkyards around here don't have motorhomes or trucks. And the ones that do, think they have a goldmine (one guy said he'd sell me 6 rims for $80 each... uh, I can get new ones for that!)

what a dilemma....

Yeah Tom, I gotta agree with Sob... as a satisfied Yokohama 17.5 user, they're the best tires going.  And alot easier to get on the road... any truck stop with a tire shop usually carries them.

The "Dodge OEM Replacement" section of the Southwest Wheel site says the K1029383 wheel is for the P-metric LT235 tire.  Are you sure your not supposed to be looking at the K0109665 wheel?  Also, make sure the load range of these wheels will be ok for you.  Neither of those is heavy enough for my 77 M400 chassis.

Yokohoma and Bridgestone list 8R-17.5 LT  (radial, load range E).  Denman has 8-17.5 LT (Bias, load range D).  Not sure if the 215/75R17.5 (radial, load range F) Uniroyal and Codovan tires will work on our rims.  Southwest wheel may know the answer.

Wonder if you can change over from a coined to a flat mount setup?

I planning on swapping out my splits for solids too (16").  Talking with my dad, tire guy, and his wheel supplier, Ford rims will work as well.  Last I checked it would be $56 per rim.

I went with the 17.5's and the denman 8.00-17.5LT tires.

tubeless, bias ply, and cheap. That's the way (uh-hu uh-huh) I like it....

rubber is rotten and figure it's a good time to get rid of the split rims. any thoguths on where to find "economy" priced wheels?
i'm having a bear of a time, around chicago, and/or my hometown in michigan. (wheels+tires)X7 isnt' cheap:)

i have Zero problem with used items, just can't seem to find them

And I now have the Denman 8.00-17.5LT's They look good, but they're not mounted yet, since I have to paint the rims yet, but these seem to be good quality and at $85 apiece, the cheapest thing  found.
