The cable that goes from the shift lever to the tranny is in very bad shape :( Really hard to move the lever. This morning, I decided to take it to the gas station to fill it up, and couldn't get it out of park. I had to turn the motor off and then move it to nuetral to start it. I've done internet searches for a OEM cable for it, even on the Winnebago web site. It's a 1995 Itasca Passage 23RC with P30 chassis. Was wondering if anyone on the forum knows of a web site that sells Itasca OEM parts of this type. BTW, what years are considered "Classic" ? Is my 1995 coach considered classic ?

22 years old, pretty classic to me. You may have to go with an aftermarket shift cable. Go to Summit.com and do a search for shift cables and see if any look like they will work. You may have to do a little modifying.

Sent Control Cables, old brake cables, and throttle cables for an International Harvester truck,  and they made up all new
cables.   They are in Santa Fe Springs,Ca.   LA County,

Hi, If the gearshift handle is on the dash it is a Chevrolet part . I changed mine to a universal floor shift long ago. Frank

I'm having a local RV repair center do the work. I'm an old fart, and my hands and fingers are in bad shape to do it myself, but thought I'd try to do some leg work for them before I take it in next week. Thanks for the ideas and links !

I have a hunch it is a stock Chevy P30 chassis setup

https://www.google.com/search?q=1995+P30+shifter+cable&oq=1995+P30+shifter+cable&gs_l=psy-ab.3...2339.3297.0.4792.2.2.0.0.0.0.274.468.0j1j1.2.0....0...1.1.64.psy-ab..0.0.0.GKPlqmWMI8Y

I took it to one of the best repair shops in Boise, and they tried for a week to locate a cable that would fit. I passed on a couple of internet links (including the one you posted) and they finally called to say they couldn't locate one. They said they had their vendors looking all over. Either the cables were too long or too short, or had the wrong ends on the cables. So it's back home, while I consider the next move.  Hm?
