Does anyone else have 3 fuel tanks in their rig?  I haven't been able to find any info on this yet, but our '81 Minnie Winnie 621 has one tank on each side and another center rear gas tank.  I only filled the rear tank because it has a locking cap and didn't want to break the bank with a possible 100 gal of gasoline!

There's what appears to be a ball valve type switch down below the driver's seat to select between the tanks.  The rear tank seems to be the "Main" tank and is 35 gal.  I saw the dash switch for the fuel gauge when we first bought it and thought that it only had a left and right tank setup.  The Winnebago brochure mentioned an optional extra fuel tank, but not two more tanks.

I used to have an old 80's Chevy 1/2 ton truck with the same switch on the dash for the fuel but that same switch would change between tanks also.  I didn't even see the fuel tank valve in the Minnie until it ran out of gas while the gauge read 1/8 a tank.  That was an entertaining afternoon.

I can offer this info, through the years, we haven't had this come across the boards.  Typically, the vast majority of the vintage rigs have two tanks, in some cases one, but it may be as you described; the third tank could have been an option.

So I know the rear tank is 35 gal.  I filled this one up before driving the Winnie back.

I measured one of the other tanks.  It's 70" L x 9.5" W x 11" H.  That puts it at 32 gallons.  It is a long tank that is mounted along the right side of the drive shaft.  The fill for this tank is down low behind the right side cab door.  It also appears that this is the tank that feeds the generator.  There's a line coming out the back to a fuel pump (I think) and then to the generator.

I haven't tried to measure the third tank since it is an odd shape.

Our old rig, 74 Kings Highway, had three tanks.  Two for the rig and one for the genny, it was 15 gallons and had its own gauge located on the inside generator control panel.
