Need part number & source for 318-3 water pump

Sorry I dont know the p.n., & hope someone will post it. The number of vanes on the pump is larger on the motorhomes than on the normal 318, and the water pump housing may be different. Without a part number, your best plan might involve taking your old water pump in to a NAPA store and having them look in their hard copy manuals.

And, By the way, if you happen to get one that is aluminum (but the correct size and shappe), return it. All 318-3 water pumps were cast iron. There were some reproduced in aluminum, and they will break from the weight of the brackets attached.

This item is in stock at NAPA's warehouse, but not usually carried on the shelf in stores, so it should only take a day to get.

It will come WITHOUT any plugs. do to different configurations of the cooling systems and heataer plumbing, there is at least one plug you will need to remove from your old water pump, plus of course the main heater and carb heater pipes, which are a @%#$$^. You can always replace them with new pipes and plugs, too.

Watch out that you do not distort the brass plug, or it will strip and leak (but they're a buck aor two and available at NAPA too, in the Dorman drawer behind the counter.

All the plugs and pipes are pipe thread. the one for the carb heater pipe can be either blocked off, or the adaptor nipple replaced (this is the one that usually strips out.)
