318 Put It In Gear and It Quits

Just a quicky guys. 318 every time ya put it in gear it quits. Won't keep running. Start it up idles fine put it in gear and quits. Any thoughts.  Hm?  Thanks

just had a freind have same problem on his ford . turned out his distributor was bad. but ck for vacume leaks.

I had that problem once and replace the plate that holds the ballast resistor, E.I.M and Voltage Regulator along with the coil. Solved the problem but never figured out just which of the pieces was the problem piece. To day I figured the coil but was wondering if any of you's had any other thoughts on it?
